About Mission Bay, San Diego
Located just a few minutes from downtown, the Mission Bay neighborhood of San Diego is a 4,600 aquatic playground. Surrounded by 27 miles of meandering shoreline, with a variety of waterways, inlets, and islets to explore, Mission Bay is bordered by several beach communities, each with their own distinct vibe. Water activities are popular here, including sailing, kite surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, surfing, and jet skiing.
On the shore, families can rent bikes, picnic, barbecue, or celebrate with bonfires right next to the water. There are a variety of attractions in Mission Bay, as well, including SeaWorld San Diego, the world-famous marine life adventure park, and nearby Belmont Park, home to San Diego’s oldest wooden roller coaster.
