Bird Rock San Diego
Bird Rock is a small seaside neighborhood within the larger community of La Jolla in San Diego. It lies on the Pacific Ocean at the southernmost end of La Jolla, just north of Pacific Beach, and is a quirky but laid-back neighborhood known for beautiful ocean views, independent boutiques, and cozy cafes.
Fun fact: local tradition says the community was named after an offshore pelican perch at the end of Bird Rock Avenue!
You can easily stroll from one end of the area’s main hub, La Jolla Boulevard, to the other, making it the perfect destination to explore unique shops and restaurants. Bird Rock is also known for its abundance of fun recreational activities! Because it sits right on the coast, water sports are extremely popular; especially surfing, swimming, paddle boarding, and kayaking.

We are easily accessible from the rest of coastal San Diego, including Mission Bay, Pacific Beach, La Jolla, and Ocean Beach via I-5 and Beryl Street to Loring St. From north county, take I-5 S and Beryl Street to Loring, and from the south, take I-5 North and Beryl Street to Loring Street. From the east, take Balboa Ave and Beryl St to Loring St.
